I laughed at snow and it laughed back

December 5, 2009 at 5:29 pm (Uncategorized)

So every year we get numerous reports of good snowfalls to come that pan out into little more than a few dwindling flakes.

Having been discouraged many times in the past, I, bitterly, laughed when I heard that this weekend presented a nice chance at snowfall. I had thought in a humbug way that the sun would shine as always and it would at best drizzle.

And Now It SNOWs, pretty substantial I might add. Its a beautiful sight that I believe has become all to rare in the world today COUGH global warming COUGH, sorry got choked there for a second. While The magical three feet snows of my childhood are Im afraid extinct in these parts nowadays it is still nice to see a good cover of that powdery percipitiation.

Im gonna have to tempt the heavens more often if I can get it to snow more!

What don’t kill ya….. Make ya more strong

November 24, 2009 at 11:57 pm (Uncategorized)

Yes it is horrible grammer and really a statement that can be wrong in many ways. To me however it is true in almost every light.

And as Thanksgiving approaches I believe that it is kind of a theme for the things I am thankful for in my life. I am thankful for my second-chance at life. I am thankful for caring families, patient friends and the knowledge I have gained about true importance and life in general. I wont sugar coat it, or request a pity party, I have had a rough last couple of years.

But here I am; alive, breathing, rather happy and I believe stronger having gone through the things I have. As one of my favorite fictional characters would say KA, plain and simple: KA. The world is indeed a crazy place but whats life without some heartache to show what joy is??

So this thanksgiving between mouthfulls of that glorious bird, I plan on giving the sky a wink and a nod. Showing my thanks for being alive to be with my family, and taking time to honor those that will no longer be with me at the harmonious table

Thankful,

Can you dig it??

November 14, 2009 at 11:03 pm (Uncategorized)

Thanksgiving is very near!! Its in the air, but no where else. I guess thats why I like thanksgiving so much; Cause its not turned into the commerciallized charade that christmas has. Dont get me wrong man, I love me some christmas and expecially love what christmas means, But I find it ridiculous that some radio stations start playing christmas music the day after Halloween. At least wait till december to cover a quarter of your super market in wrapping paper and blow up santas!

But its cool. Allot of other things are starting around this time to. Metalocalypse is back and I can already tell that its probably going to be the best season yet. And mastodons doing a guest voice later on so hellz yeah.

Tats all folks, besides your daily fun thing below…

Been awhile

November 10, 2009 at 12:51 am (Uncategorized)

mastodon 039Yess indeedy, time has sure flown by. October was barely here at all, and we are already halfway through November. I think im getting that melancholy feeling that things are moving to fast this year….. no it cant be the dreaded senioritis!! I dont think its that

Well alot of sweet things have been happening in el sasquatch’s life; which is probably why im behind on my posts. I slammed trick r treating with the crew and raked in some choice munchies. We only ran into one old mieser who nevertheless succeeded in getting me pretty steamed; I mean why be a jerk to some one on halloween.

Then I got to see Mastodon live for the second time. They consistently amaze me!! It was a pretty sweet bonus that Dethklok and High on Fire were playing as well. Face meltage did happen!! and I was beside a guy who was like 6’5, bald and about 300 pounds who threatened to beat the crap out of any stupid moshers who bothered us, SO I actually got to enjoy the real show.

Then I had a frigid night at the game last friday followed by a wicked bonfire with my girlfriend.

Good times to look back on when things get hard in life, power on if you can dig it.

And mastodons drummer was wearing a shirt with the picture from a few posts ago on it, with the scarecrow wanting brains…. small world

Back with renewed fury,

AAAAAbout time for a slightly positive post

October 22, 2009 at 10:13 pm (Uncategorized)

Well after alot of hard work, sickness and some awesome chicken pox things are looking pretty sweet.

This saturday my family is celebrating my uncles birthday. My uncle Petey for those who dont know him, is the bomb. He is hilarious and is quite possibly the missing link to relate humans to slightly balding chimpanzees with bad eyesight! And there will be good food so score for me.

And Hallows Eve is looming in the present future. I love halloween, always have and probably always will. It has been one of those special days for me and my mom for years. Many times when it falls on a school day I would lay out with her and just scope as many horror flicks as possible. I am planning on going as the Mad Scientist off of robot CHICKEN.

November bring further facemelting awesomeness as the concert of Mastodon and Dethklok comes to Charlotte. And I will be there. And I may possible lose control of my bladder because of the amount of intensity!!

Yes yes yes

Long Weekend…..really

October 11, 2009 at 4:53 pm (Uncategorized)

Well I find myself more tired than usual on a weekend and an extended weekend at that. If I could find who schedules the SAT I would probably kick them in a rather sensitive area; who decides to give a extremely long test extremely early in the morning after homecoming?!?

So yea, I left my lights on in my car at the game and when I tried to leave it wouldnt start so I had to wait pretty long for a pair of jumper cables. Then I had to get up early for the SAT. But after that things have been pretty cool. I got some really sweet comics in boone and I got the second Dethalbum which rocked my eye veins till they hemoraged.

Saddly I dont get to even sleep in on my one day off tomorrow as once again thanks to some very convienient scheduleing I have to be at the high school to pick up and deliver doughnuts. Never have I despised Krispy Kremes untill now.

Time to mellow with some tacos

The ode to Ahab

October 4, 2009 at 9:54 pm (Uncategorized)

It never ceases to amaze me just how much I have a Super Man-Crush on Mastodon, in a completely hetero way of course….

Any way currently this is my “fight song” not that Im actually fighting. It just makes me want to go medieval or something. And its about Captain Ahab!!

I Present to you: BLOOD AND THUNDER BY MASTODON

I think that someone is trying to kill me
Infecting my blood and destroying my mind
No man of the flesh could ever stop me
The fight for this fish is a fight to the death

White whale – holy grail

What remorseless emperor commands me
I no longer govern my soul
I am completely immersed in darkness
As I turn my body away from the sun

White whale – holy grail

Split your lungs with blood and thunder
When you see the white whale
Break your backs and crack your oars men
If you wish to prevail

This ivory leg is what propels me
Harpoons thrust in the sky
Aim directly for his crooked brow
And look him straight in the eye

White whale – holy grail

Finally..

October 3, 2009 at 4:26 pm (Uncategorized)

Well I slept the best I have in ages last night. Didnt wake up until like 9:30 so thats good for me. Im finally determined to relax a little to, I got stuff I should do but that can wait till later. Im thinking about just kicking back with some Metalacolypse of Samuri Jack and just chillen. Theres a cookout at my church this evening and their having barbeque thats been slow cooking all day, I am very excited.

Also I think I am reading what will turn out to be one of my favorite books. The Road by Cormac Mccarthy of No Country for Old Men fame. Its simplistic and haunting. As you follow the desperate father and son through a post apocalyptic world you feel like if you dont continue reading that you may well doom them.

They are making a movie of it, but I think that it will be hard to beat the novel

Shades turn Brown To Grey

September 28, 2009 at 11:00 pm (Uncategorized)

I feel like I am the only person who is completely mind-ploded about college. I feel like I should know alot more than I do, like I have gotten to where I cannot catchup with the deadlines.

It is such unfamiliar territory to me and that is one thing that grinds my gears the most. I hate feeling ignorant and out of control. I have made some appointments with guidance counselors though, so at least Im being proactive in my diatribe. Its just others seem to completely be on top of it, or they are unconcerned with their lack of progress. And here I am chewing my tongue and watching my hair shift brown to grey. I fear that I will be late and that my work will be for nothing. Its not my past effort I am afraid of as I have always been a good student its just this whole registering stuff. Its all online now and my computer likes to laugh at my attempts to conquer the internet and its spirals of discontinuity.

Oh well, Hopefully I will get it done. Sorry bout this being my second whiney rant in a row….

Morehead-aches

September 24, 2009 at 10:58 pm (Uncategorized)

I was one of the students nominated for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship for UNC. I am pretty excited about it really, even though there is only a slight bit more than a snowballs chance that I will get it. It is a full ride to Carolina complete with a swell stipend that would make life alot simplier for a weary college freshman. I must fill out a lengthy application now and in dealing with almost any type of application I get anxious. I either have diarreaha of the word processor or constipation for words, and never do I have one at the right time.

So needless to say this amounts to me obsessively sitting in front of my computer screen, complete with sweaty palms, racking my brain for what will be a good inclusion.

Steam release complete…. ahh that relieved some pressure. Now I am off to look for my awards, trophies and other things of the sort.
